A genetic researcher questions restoring his world’s aberrant populations to humanity after meeting an unusual woman he believes may be more than human.
This story takes place on a world with an elliptical orbit that barely remains inside its star’s habitable zone. Unable to terraform a world with short hot summers and long cold winters, the colonists decide to adapt themselves with the Change Virus. When they adapt a little too well, their world is quarantined by the rest of humanity.
